Washington, D.C. – September 11, 2024
Employees from ENSCO, Inc. joined more than a thousand volunteers on September 11 to pack 450,000 meals for the Capital Area Food Bank. The meal pack, marking the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, was organized by the group 9/11 Day as part of a nationwide effort to assemble nine million meals for families in need and to honor the lives and service of those we lost on September 11, 2001.
More than 40 ENSCO team members, from the Vienna and Springfield, Virginia office locations, came together at Dock5 at Union Market to compile the ingredients for a nutritious rice and lentil jambalaya. The Washington, D.C. event was one of 21 organized across the country in partnership with AmeriCorps and Feeding America-affiliated food banks.
“I sincerely thank my ENSCO colleagues for the time and care they put into making this National Day of Service a success,” remarked ENSCO President Jeff Stevens. “Thank you to the 9/11 Day group for providing the opportunity for us to play a small role in providing food security to our fellow Americans. We look forward to participating again in the future.”
