Decorated government official and national security expert to advise technology company

Today, ENSCO, Inc., announced the appointment of Doug Bruder to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Bruder, a decorated government executive and leading research strategist on technology-driven national security programs, will share his expertise on ENSCO’s expanding research customer base.
“Doug Bruder’s accomplished track record in government and the private sector on national security and technology issues will enhance our service offerings for many of our customers,” commented, ENSCO, Inc., Chairman of the Board, Greg Young. “Doug’s expertise in research, engineering, and acquisitions, combined with his work in defense nuclear nonproliferation, and global and nuclear threat reduction, aligns with the mission and values of our customers,” he continued.
Mr. Bruder has spent nearly 40 years leading technology-driven national security programs across government, industry, and Federally Funded Research and Development Center organizations. His extensive knowledge has been broadly applied to customer communities in weapon and sensor system development, protective systems, intelligence, special operations, international cooperative engagement, and nuclear deterrence.
He previously held positions as the Associate Director for Global Security at Sandia National Laboratories, Vice President of Leidos as their Senior Account Executive, and Chief Strategist for the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) portfolio. While in government, Mr. Bruder was also the Director of Research and Development for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Director of Combating WMD Support at DTRA, a special assistant and liaison to the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs, and a submarine design engineer for the Naval Sea Systems Command. During the final 13 years of his government career, he served as a member of the Senior Executive Service.
Mr. Bruder has received the two highest awards for government executives: the Presidential Rank Award, Distinguished Executive (2011), and the Presidential Rank Award, Meritorious Executive (2007).
He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan.
