Jeff Stevens, President of ENSCO giving speech at ribbon cutting event“As we cut this ribbon today, we’re not just opening a new office — we’re opening the door to the future of ENSCO,” said Jeff Stevens, president of ENSCO. “This space is the launchpad for the innovations, solutions, and collaborations that will define our next 50 years.”

The move, from a stand-alone building to the ten-story high-rise at 2600 Park Tower Drive, modernizes the workplace and improves both in-person and remote collaboration among ENSCO’s 750-plus employees who innovate in the Aerospace, National Security, Cybersecurity, and Surface Transportation sectors.

Congressman Gerry Connolly, representing Virginia's 11th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, praised the company for its strategic repositioning within the county, after four decades spent in its previous location in Springfield.

Congressman Gerry Connolly“Fairfax has transformed, in my lifetime, from a commuter county where we provided federal workers downtown, to a vibrant, powerful juggernaut in its own right,” said Congressman Connolly. “Coming here is a signal move for further growth and expansion, anchoring this company with so many others.”

ENSCO's New HQ in Vienna, VirginiaDalia Palchik, supervisor for the Providence District, which encompasses 2600 Park Tower, remarked on the diversity – both in demographics and skillset – of the workforce the region’s business community attracts, and the role ENSCO plays by employing more than 170 residents in the Northern Virginia area.

With ENSCO’s office on the first and fourth floors, the company was able to reduce overall square footage of office space compared to the older Springfield building, while taking advantage of modern building control systems to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. Further, the building location, just across the street from the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro station, was chosen to encourage employees to take advantage of public transportation. Overlooking Interstate 66, ENSCO’s illuminated logo is visible to hundreds of thousands of drivers each day.

“What you’re doing as a private employer is also, in so many ways, a public service that helps everyone in our community,” remarked Jeff McKay, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. “While this is a great homegrown story of a company that has invested in Fairfax County, we will continue to invest in you to make sure that you’re successful.”

FCEDA is led by a board of county business leaders and funded by Fairfax County government to promote the county as one of the world’s best business locations, helping businesses start, expand, or relocate within Fairfax. By building the county’s commercial tax base, the Board of Supervisors is able to fund public services for the growing population.
