ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Director for the Advanced Projects and Applications Division (APA) located in Springfield, Virginia. APA specializes in National Security related technology development services and products involving GPS denied location and tracking, geophysical sensing for situational awareness, perimeter and border protection systems, and vulnerability assessment and mitigation strategy development for high-value assets. The candidate will have familiarity with U.S. government customers such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and/or the Intelligence Community. The successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Business Development (CBD) and will be responsible for leading Business Development activities for the APA Division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
Pursuit of new strategic markets where APA products and services can be leveraged.
Maintaining, monitoring, and reporting on the APA Division pipeline, and establishing and executing the business development goals on a monthly basis.
Managing the targets and budgets required for all outreach and promotional activities, including advertising, trade shows, technical papers and publications.
Managing external relationships including the promotion of ENSCO’s products, services, branding and reputation.
Assuring all business development activities are performed in a manner that is consistent with all applicable laws, regulations, and ENSCO SOP’s and is consistent with ENSCO’s reputation as a good partner and a quality source of technology-based products and services.
- BS or higher degree in technical or related field or equivalent.
- 10 plus years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years managerial and leadership experience.
- Experience developing marketing strategies and long-range business plans.
- Existing relationship with at least one or more of the Division’s potential target organizations with the desire and ability to broaden the contact base to additional organizations of interest.
- Demonstrated ability to move aggressively and independently into selected markets.
- Demonstrated ability to drive multiple initiatives to success in a timely manner.
- Skilled in developing internal and external partnerships and collaborative solutions.
- Active U.S. government security clearance at TS with an ability to obtain SCI access.
- Experience developing value propositions with cost/benefit analyses for products and services.
- Experience responding to Request for Proposals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in Capture Management of new opportunities and meeting growth targets.
- Personally energized by the identification and addressing of significant business challenges.
- An enthusiastic, articulate communicator, able to present convincing and technically viable solutions both inside ENSCO and in the marketplace.
- A leader and catalyst, both in thought and action.
- An organized visionary with well-grounded business acumen.
- Experience developing pricing models for products, services and ongoing technical support.
- Experience working with technical teams to generate pricing and work scopes.
