ENSCO's MetWise™ product line was originally designed to be a comprehensive weather visualization and decision assistance tool for the professional weather community called MetWise Enterprise.
We recently expanded our main product line to include MetWise Net, a thin-client version of MetWise. This version is useful for emergency first responders and any other user desiring real time weather predictions and monitoring. This capability, once only available to the National Weather Service, is now available to anyone with an Internet connection.
MetWise Collaborate provides a set of drawing and communication tools over an IP network. These tools can be used for remote briefings or collaborative sessions where the actions of one user are mirrored on the other site.
The MetWise Predict tool provides high resolution national and regional weather forecast models of the atmosphere. MetWise Predict provides higher spatial and temporal resolution products than the NWS models, as well as output parameters not typically available from these models such as forecast radar reflectivity, and turbulence and icing forecasts.
MetWise Live provides users with tailored, Internet-delivered products to meet their unique forecasting needs.

Tornados, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, droughts and excessive rain are just a few of the many weather events that impact businesses every year. The ability to predict and plan for these events can provide a competitive edge to companies. Unfortunately, hiring a staff of meteorologists is rarely cost effective. ENSCO’s staff of meteorologists and engineers can create and tailor decision support tools or provide on-call support to provide the information needed for each unique situation. Specially designed weather products can be automatically produced in our product generation labs and delivered to the users via the Internet. Twenty-four/seven on-call support is available for users needing this level of access.
In addition to supporting NASA through our efforts at the Applied Meteorology Unit (AMU) at Cape Canaveral, ENSCO provides valuable expertise to NASA’s Short-term Prediction Research and Transition (SPoRT) Center in Huntsville, Ala. Here ENSCO scientists work with directly with NASA’s team to develop and transition new NASA datasets and capabilities into operations, specifically in the areas of regional numerical weather predictions, land surface modeling, and lightning detection.
In addition, ENSCO transitions new NASA products into National Weather Service (NWS) operations. In this capacity, ENSCO conducts assessments and site visits to existing and prospective customers, and established collaborative relationships with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the National Severe Storms Laboratory, and the NWS forecast offices.
