ENSCO delivers track geometry and rail profile measurement service through both Hi-Rail service trucks and portable systems. These systems mount to rail cars to provide measurement under true dynamic loads. With this service even small railroads can have the technology that the large carriers utilize to meet the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) standards for safety.
The data collected is loaded into ENSCO’s GeoEdit and Rail Profile software for analysis of track events, rail profile, and maintenance issues that are classified by the level of importance. ENSCO's team can schedule to be on your property for every required inspection.
Non-contact optical imaging technology provides one foot rail measurements to determine rail size, rail face angle, vertical head wear, gage side wear, field side wear and total head loss. This inspection is an optional parameter to our track geometry measurement inspection service and can be performed simultaneously to reduce test service costs.
Third-rail (power rail) geometry provides measurement of third-rail gage and third-rail height. Third-rail gage is the lateral distance from the gage face of the running rail to the gage face (or the center line) of the third-rail. Third-rail height is the vertical distance from the plane containing the running surfaces of the rails to the surface of the third-rail. This inspection is an optional parameter to our track geometry measurement inspection service and can be performed simultaneously to reduce test service costs.
