Digital Track Notebook® (DTN)

Handheld Field Inspections

Carry a safety standards library, make track calculations quickly, and record track inspection data on a handheld computer. ENSCO has developed the Digital Track Notebook® (DTN) for field inspectors. The Digital Track Notebook provides a means for track inspectors and maintenance personnel to manage inspection schedules, record track related defects, record maintenance activity, perform follow up inspections on defects collected by FRA track geometry vehicles, and synchronize all field information with a centralized data management system. The DTN is in compliance with FRA electronic record keeping requirements.

DTN is based on research sponsored by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and ENSCO’s internal research and development.
